Applying to study in Perth

When you apply to study at an institution in Perth, Western Australia, you are required to apply to ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinstitution directly. This can be done online or via post.

The application process is fairly straightforward, but if you find that you need help, you can contact ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinstitution you are applying to, your local , or an education agent for advice. 

Before you get started

Your step-by-step guide to starting your studies

Step 1: Research education providers

Start by taking some time to research Perth universities, colleges, vocational education providers, and schools to find ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøright institution for you. You can find a list of Perth’s education providers here.

When deciding on ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinstitution you want to study at, it's important to consider factors like its location and ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøenvironment and culture it offers.

Step 2: Select your course

Whatever you want to study, you’ll find ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøcourse that’s right for you in Perth. 

Use our to search for ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøcourses available at Perth's universities, vocational education providers, English language colleges, and schools. Use ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøavailable filters to narrow down your search.

Once you’ve made your decision, it’s time to confirm ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøcourse you want to study at your chosen education institution(s). You may be asked to nominate a second or third course preference at that institution, on top of your preferred course.

At this point, it’s also important that you check if there are any school-specific requirements as part of your student visa requirements.

Step 3: Submit your application

It’s time to apply! 

Complete and submit your application to your chosen educational institution. You can do this either on their website or via mail.

Each institution has its own application process, so make sure to follow ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinstructions on ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøwebsite. 

As part of your application, you’ll also be required to submit your documentation which needs to be translated into English. Please refer to ·¬ÇÑÉçÇørequirements provided by ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinstitution you are applying to.

If you need any help, contact ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinstitution you wish to study at and ask to speak to ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøInternational Office. Nearly all Perth universities, schools and colleges employ staff to assist and enrol international students. 

If your chosen institution does not have an International Office, talk to ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøStudent Administration staff.

Step 4: Accept your offer and pay

If you meet all ·¬ÇÑÉçÇørequirements and receive a place in your chosen course, you will receive a 'Letter of Offer' which means your application was successful. To accept ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøoffer, simply sign it and return it either online or by mail.

At this point, you may be required to pay your full tuition fee or a deposit and provide proof of your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

Once your education institution receives your signed ‘Letter of Offer’, you will then be sent a 'Confirmation of Enrolment' (CoE) via email. 

Your CoE will outline your course start date, course duration, course fees and other important information.

Step 5: Apply for your student visa

You will need a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) in order to apply for a visa to study in Australia. So once you have received your CoE, you're ready to apply for your visa!
