Grant Funding

The Innovation Fund Program provides an opportunity to secure financial support for projects that advance and promote ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinternational education sector in Western Australia.

Innovation Fund Program Funding Categories

The Innovation Fund Program is divided into two grant funding categories.

Category 1 - Collaborative Projects up to $50,000 (+gst)

Projects must be collaborative and inclusive. Collaborative Projects must be submitted by an identified Project Lead, an employee or authorised representative of a StudyPerth Education or Associate Member.

Category 2 - Individual Projects up to $5,000 (+gst)

Projects do not need to be collaborative. Applications will be accepted for projects from eligible individual organisations by an employee or authorised representative of organisation.

Innovation Fund Program Objectives

Priority Objectives

  • Initiatives that support members to build/rebuild relationships with key distribution partners, potential students, and their parents.
  • Initiatives that promote and support ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøawareness of Western Australia as ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøfirst-choice destination for international education for StudyPerth’s tier 1 and 2 markets.

Additional Objectives

  • Initiatives that create memorable experiences for international students and encourage them to promote Western Australia as a first-choice study destination.
  • Provide international students with access to opportunities designed to increase their employability attributes and enhance their employment opportunities.
  • Initiatives that support ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøintegration of international students into ·¬ÇÑÉçÇølocal community and raise community awareness of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøbenefits of international students to residents of Western Australia.

Preference will be given to projects that meet one or more of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøpriority objectives.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We encourage all applicants to email grantsprogram@studyperth.com.au or contact us on 08 6244 1640 to discuss their project concept prior to preparing their submission. 
  • For category one projects in particular, projects must benefit ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøinternational education sector broadly. Projects cannot just benefit your organisation but must support other StudyPerth members and all international students.
  • Funding is open all year around until 30 June 2025, until all funds are exhausted. Do not leave your application until ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøclosing date.

Category 1 - Collaborative Projects must be submitted by an identified Project Lead, an employee of StudyPerth Education or an Associate Member, who will accept responsibility should ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøapplication be successful and must identify each project partner.

Applications for Category 2 - Individual Projects will be accepted from any of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇølisted eligible organisations with an identified Project Lead from ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøorganisation, who will accept responsibility should ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøapplication be successful. Projects do not need to be collaborative.

 It is not a requirement for Applicants to be a StudyPerth Member to be eligible for ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøInnovation Fund Program Category 2, but preference will be given to StudyPerth Members. We encourage all Applicants to subscribe to StudyPerth Stakeholder Newsletters at www.studyperth.com.au/subscribe.

There is no minimum number of project partners. However, preference will be given to projects that demonstrate a genuinely collaborative and inclusive approach.

Application for Category 2 is open to individual projects, and ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøproject is not required to be collaborative.

Applicants with collaborative projects should apply for Category 1 – Collaborative Projects.

This phase of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøInnovation Fund Program supports ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøfollowing core objective:

To be eligible for ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøInnovation Fund Program, project proposals will need to meet one of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøobjectives. Projects that meet one or all priority objectives will have favourable consideration.

Applicants must complete ·¬ÇÑÉçÇørevised Innovation Fund Program Application Form and meet ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøProgram objectives to be eligible for ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøInnovation Fund Program Program.

The Innovation Fund Program funding amounts are:

  • Category 1 - Collaborative Projects up to $50,000 (+gst)
  • Category 2 - Individual Projects up to $5,000 (+gst)

Lesser funding amounts can be requested.

There is no requirement for applicants to match financial contributions to ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøproject; ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøfunding grant can cover ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøfull cost of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøproject. However, a budget is required as part of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøapplication process that indicates any in-kind and financial contribution. This provides ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøtotal project value.

Any unspent Program grant funds must be declared as part of ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøreporting and acquittal process within 21 days of project completion. All unspent funds must be returned to StudyPerth unless otherwise agreed to prior to ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøproject completion date with StudyPerth. An invoice will be issued to return ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøunspent funds.

A summary of why ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøproject does not meet ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøcriteria will be provided to unsuccessful applicants. Unsuccessful applicants can re-apply within ·¬ÇÑÉçÇøApplication Open period. The final application date to be submitted is 11.59 PM AWST on Sunday, 30 June 2025.

Organisations can submit multiple applications for separate projects and/or projects represented by different departments within one organisation.
