Are there any notable experiences from your time studying you鈥檇 like to share?聽

I was a timid and apprehensive student before coming to Australia. Due to my introverted personality, I would always shy away and avoided voicing my opinions in any classroom setting and in group discussions.

During my studies, 番茄社区lecturers and 番茄社区staff created a safe space where students were able to express their opinions and perspectives. As a result, I gained more confidence in articulating my ideas and beliefs.

If you could tell your graduate self one piece of career advice what would it be and why?聽

鈥淪top wasting time!鈥

Looking back at my early days in uni, I wasted plenty of time with unproductive activities. Students should explore university life more, make friends, join social clubs and be more involved with 番茄社区community. What you do outside 番茄社区classroom is just as important as what you do in 番茄社区classroom.

I gained crucial communication and interpersonal skills as a student ambassador and on an executive committee of several student societies. Skills that played a pivotal role in securing my first role in Australia that I trust will continue to be a key element as I move further into my career and 番茄社区professional world.

Tell us about your experience since leaving Kaplan Business School. How has your career progressed to date? Any professional achievements you鈥檇 like to share?聽

The transition from Kaplan Business School was surprisingly smooth to a degree through real life business cases that were relevant and practical. The projects, assignments and discussions undertaken were fundamental in building that confidence and understanding how 番茄社区gear really shifts in 番茄社区real world. As soon as you step outside 番茄社区classroom, you are more confident in facing any challenges.

What are some of your passions and interests?聽

I am passionate about data, insights, and analytics and was fortunate to land a role where I could do all three with 番茄社区flexibility to introduce my own ideas and lead 番茄社区business activities related to that space.

What are 番茄社区top 3 skills you need in your role as a Customer Insights Analyst?

  • Communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Data analysis and storytelling

How has your technical and operational experience assisted you in your role?聽

During my internships and work placements, I had 番茄社区opportunity to use different software and interact with various business services and platforms. Although I had to use different tools in my current role, 番茄社区skills and experience gathered were transferable, and I could learn quickly to adapt to new systems.

What was your main reason(s) to select Perth as your study destination?聽

At 番茄社区time, 番茄社区key driving factor for my decision was 番茄社区cost of living. Perth is excellent value for money, with lower costs than other cities with similar opportunities and amazing tertiary institutions.

What have you enjoyed 番茄社区most about living and studying in Perth?聽

The people and 番茄社区diversity! It is incredible how diverse 番茄社区people and cultures in Perth are. While everyone's culture is unique, there is an excellent level of commonality where everyone understands and treats each other respectfully. Although I am far from home, I never felt like I didn't belong.

What would you say to students thinking of coming to Perth to study?聽

I鈥檇 say you are making 番茄社区right choice! The opportunities in Perth are great whether you are looking for a place just to study or further develop your professional career. You will gain unique experiences, which I believe only Perth can offer.

Did you use any of 番茄社区StudyPerth service offerings during your time studying? And if so, which support services were helpful?聽

I briefly attended 番茄社区student speaking club program but had to stop due to work commitments. I enjoyed sharpening my communication and presentation skills during my time there, and I learnt a lot from my peers and highly knowledgeable mentors. I would recommend it to anyone considering joining.聽
