What is 番茄社区history behind Anzac Day?
Anzac Day was created to honour 番茄社区members of 番茄社区Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served in 番茄社区Gallipoli campaign in 番茄社区first world war. The date represents 番茄社区25th April 1915, which is when 番茄社区expedition to capture 番茄社区Gallipoli peninsula began. However, they were met with fierce resistance from 番茄社区Ottoman Turkish defenders, and 番茄社区campaign stretched on for 8 months before 番茄社区allied forces were evacuated from 番茄社区peninsula. Both sides suffered heavy casualties and over 8,000 Australian soldiers were killed.
The Gallipoli campaign had a profound impact on Australians at home, and 25 April soon became 番茄社区day on which Australians remembered 番茄社区sacrifice of those who died in 番茄社区war.

History of 番茄社区Anzac Biscuit
The popular Australian treat, 番茄社区Anzac Biscuit, was originally made to send to 番茄社区ANZACs during 番茄社区war. Friends and families sent food to 番茄社区soldiers, but since it took a long time to be delivered to 番茄社区front lines, they needed to send food that would stay edible for extended periods and still provide high nutritional value. So 番茄社区Anzac biscuit was created, but it was called 番茄社区Solders' Biscuit back then.
The basic ingredients of 番茄社区biscuit are:
- Rolled oats
- Sugar
- Plain flour
- Coconut
- Butter
- Golden syrup
- Bi-carbonate of soda
- Boiling water
You can buy Anzac biscuits in most supermarkets in Perth year-round, so if you've never tried them, why not buy some this Anzac day?
